Rory Davidson started out in the masonry business as an apprentice. While learning his trade, he paid close attention to how his employers ran their companies. It looked like something he could do, too — so 13 years ago he took the entrepreneurial leap and launched Cronus Masonry Contracting Ltd.
Based in Pitt Meadows, Cronus Masonry is a brick, block, and stone masonry specialist serving Whistler, West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Delta, Surrey, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Langley, Maple Ridge, Mission, and Abbotsford to Chilliwack. The company has grown over the years and now helps keep 100 tradespeople employed and providing for their families.
Seeing projects from start to finish
In Greek mythology, Cronus was King of the Titans and God of Time, making him an appropriate namesake for a company that works with products of the earth and must prioritize staying on time. Rory says his company has a competitive advantage because it gets involved at the earliest stages of budgeting and sees projects through to homeowner handover, delivering the same level of professionalism throughout.
Over the years, Rory has learned that an important part of being successful is learning how to say no to projects that aren’t a good fit. That way, he can give the clients he chooses to work with the highest possible standard of service.
