Everything’s grape at Meyer Family Vineyards

Meyer Family Vineyards, one of the top wineries in the Okanagan, is a great example of when it works well. Owned by Jak and Janice-Stevens Meyer, this winery specializes in traditional French Burgundian style, focusing on small cases with an emphasis on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Jak and Janice started their wine business after careers in investment banking and accounting. Knowing that behind every great business is a great team, Janice used her background in the food and beverage industry to find the best contacts to help create a business plan and start the complex process of harvesting wine.

After over a decade in the business, Meyer Family Vineyards currently produces about 8,000 cases yearly and all wines are hand-crafted and harvested by the family in East Kelowna, Naramata, and Okanagan Falls to produce the finest wines possible. Their philosophy is that wines are not made but grown, and good wine happens when the grape is nurtured on the vine. Then, it’s hands off to let the wine age peacefully in the cellar. Each wine reflects the vineyard of its origin, the soil, the climate and the people that care for the vines.

If you’d like to try wines from Meyer Family Vineyards but aren’t in the Okanagan area, you can subscribe to their wine club and receive bottles to your doorstep several times per year.
